Day 19: Michaelangelo statue of David and Piazzale Michaelangelo
Basilica del Santa Croce and el Duomo
Absolutely breathtaking detail with sculptures in every nook. Hard to capture the full scale of this in a photo.

Looking back on our way to see David at the Galleria dell'Academie
So many naked statues.
And pretty paintings.
This is David. He is an enormous statue.
So lifelike
People kept trying to sell us selfie sticks all across the land but our selfie game be on point.
Another angle for you to assess.

Lots of Renaissance paintings from the 13th, 14th, and 15th centuries.
One of my favorite "Modonna and Child(s)"
City scape of beautiful Florence
Obligatory Florence selfie
We went to watch the monks sing but we attended a very pretty mass instead where there was some singing. Apparently they sang earlier in the day. We said a prayer and walked out to the sun slowly setting.
On our way back to our apartment, we stumbled across a romantic rose garden.
Where Mike put on his fashion face.
